FE Sports Co-ordinator appointed at College
Neil Gilmore has been appointed as the Further Education Sports Co-ordinator (FESCo) at West Suffolk College, Bury St Edmunds .
Neil Gilmore [pictured] has been appointed as the Further Education Sports Co-ordinator (FESCo) at West Suffolk College, Bury St Edmunds.
This new role will specifically focus on increasing students’ participation in sport and physical activity.
The aim is to improve and enhance the existing College-based sport programmes for students aged between 16 and 19, with a particular focus on raising participation, broadening opportunities to lead and volunteer through existing programmes such as Step into Sport and extending opportunities to compete.
Neil said: “I am really looking forward to working with staff and students in what is a really exciting time for the development of sporting opportunities for our 16 to 19 year olds within the FE sector.
“There are already opportunities for Club and County standard players to represent the college in the British Colleges Sport East Region tournaments
“I am keen to develop the sports and physical opportunities available to our students within the College and the wider community.”
