FE News catches up with Shireen Al-Khalili, AoC Create's shared services project manager, to discuss six projects funded by a £6.5m grant from the skills Funding Agency to distribute across the FE sector. The shared services projects range from front and back office services, procurement of awarding organisation services, to cloud computing.
Each of the projects had to make efficiency savings of at least £50,000 in their first year, but many of them are projected to save more than a £1m in their second year.
